90 Day Groom Couples: Who Is Still Together?
Looking for lasting love. "90 Day Fiancé" has captivated audiences since its premiere in 2014 - and has more success stories than audiences might think.
The reality TV series TLC, which aired its seventh season in early 2020, follows up-and-coming couples who have applied for or received a K-1 visa and must get married within 90 days to stay in the United States. Many of these duos meet by chance on their exotic travels, while others chatted with their future spouses online for months before finally meeting in person.
90 Day Fiancé spawned a popular franchise on the web, expanding its universe with byproducts such as “90 Day Fiancé: Forever?”, “90 Day Fiancé: Up to 90 Days,” and others. In April 2020, TLC unveiled 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, which explored how married couples from the original series adapted to life in isolation during the coronavirus pandemic.
When executive producer Matt Sharp first came up with the concept of a reality dating show, he was shocked at how “pervasive” the topic was.
“They were people from all walks of life and all states who started interacting with people online and fell in love,” he recalled Glamor in February 2020. “We found that as soon as people found [others] abroad and went to meet them, they would then propose. The most interesting thing for us was the K-1 visa process. ... As soon as they enter the United States, the clock is ticking. "
