Music unites people! Kelly Clarkson returned to host the 2020 Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday October 14, six months after the ceremony was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Post Malone topped the team with 16 nominations, just one fewer than his 2019 record number of 17. Lil Nas X came in second with 13 nominations. Billie Eilish and Khalid each received 12 nominations, Lizzo - 11 and Kanye West - nine, including four in the gospel categories. It was a big night for Lil Nas X, 21, Lizzo, 32, Dodge Cat, Harry Styles and the Jonas brothers, who were nominated for the first time.
Garth Brooks took the stage as this year's ICON award winner Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Cher and Celine Dion.
Malone, Alicia Keys, John Legend, BTS, Demi Lovato, Brandi, En Vogue and Sia also performed alongside Dodge, 24, Bad Bunny, Kane Brown, Sue Lee, Khalid, 22, Saint John and Luke Combs.

Clarkson, 38, hosted the show for the third year in a row. “I am thrilled to be back with my Billboard family,” she said in a February statement. “I enjoy participating in events that honor our greatest artists and entertain our fans. This is a musical evening not to be missed! "
The 2020 Billboard Music Awards was originally slated for April 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, but was postponed in March due to the pandemic. It was broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday on NBC.
