In March, Us Weekly broke the news that 28-year-old Lovato was dating 29-year-old Young and the Restless graduate after her brief romance with model Austin Wilson. Erich asked the question on the beach in Malibu four months later. The "I Love Me" singer announced her engagement in an emotional Instagram post.

“@Maxehrich - I knew I loved you as soon as I met you. It was something that I cannot describe to anyone who did not come across this on their own experience, but, fortunately, you too, - wrote Lovato then. “I've never in my life felt so unconditionally loved by someone (other than my parents) for shortcomings and all that. You never force me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I am honored to accept your hand in marriage.
