Some Bachelor Nation splits are hit harder than others.
After months of speculation, Becca Kufrin confirmed in September 2020 that she and Garrett Yrigoyen had broken off their engagement.
“I don’t think this will shock anyone, but Garrett and I decided to break our engagement,” the season 14 bachelorette girl said on her bachelor happy hour podcast. “After long conversations, we came to this decision. We didn't arrive one night, ”she continued. “It was not based solely on one Instagram post or someone else's opinions or comments. That's not all. There are many layers in any relationship, and it’s not for me to divulge the details. This does not concern anyone, except what I am telling you now.
The couple got engaged at the finale of The Bachelorette in August 2018. Fans became aware of the troubles in paradise after Kufrin recorded an emotional episode of "Happy Bachelor Hour" about supporting the Yrigoyen police as part of the Black Lives Matter movement in June 2020 alongside Rachel Lindsay.
“The fact that we made this decision does not take away all the years and countless memories that we have created together,” said Kufrin. "I will always look back at this time of my life with such gratitude and love."
