Hong Kong media tycoon Jimmy Lai arrested, top aide says

HONG KONG — Hong Kong media head honcho Jimmy Lai has been captured over presumed arrangement with unfamiliar powers under the new national security law, his top helper said on Twitter, in what is the most prominent capture yet under the enactment. 

Lai has been one of the most unmistakable vote based system activists in the Chinese-administered city and a passionate pundit of Beijing, which forced the general new law on Hong Kong on June 30, drawing judgment from Western nations. 

The new security law rebuffs anything China thinks about disruption, severance, fear mongering and conspiracy with unfamiliar powers with up to life in jail. 

Pundits state it pulverizes opportunities in the semiautonomous city, while supporters state it will bring strength after delayed favorable to majority rule government fights a year ago. 

"Jimmy Lai is being captured for plot with unfamiliar forces as of now," Mark Simon, a senior leader at Lai's media organization Next Digital , which distributes neighborhood newspaper Apple Daily, said at an early stage Monday. 

Police didn't quickly remark. 

Lai was likewise captured for the current year on unlawful gathering charges, alongside other driving activists, identifying with fights a year ago.
