Everybody knows what time it is? It was a famous phrase that emerged from the ABC comedy series Home Improvement, which aired from September 1991 to May 1999. The 30-minute comedy followed Tim "Toolmaker" Taylor (Tim Allen) as he hosted the Home Improvement show called "Tool Time," although he is far from being a jack of all trades.
In his spare time with buddy and best friend Al Borland (Richard Karn), Tim spent time at home with his wife Jill (Patricia Richardson) and their three sons: Brad (Zackery Tai Brian); Randy (Jonathan Taylor Thomas); and Mark (Taran Noah Smith).
The series, which kicked off Allen's television career, ran for eight seasons and was nominated for seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Thomas, who began his career while broadcasting the show, retired from the show in season eight to go to school.
Although both Allen and Richardson were reportedly offered between $ 25 million and $ 50 million for their ninth season, both declined.
In 2020, Allen revealed that he is "always thinking" about some kind of reunion. “I love the idea of making it a one-off movie, like an hour-long movie.
